Each module pairs didactic instruction with case-based learning, supervised practice, and personal reflection — building toward a capstone competency evaluation.

Weeks 1–8

Foundations of Psychedelic Medicine

  • History and cultural context of psychedelic substances
  • Neuropharmacology: 5-HT2A, NMDA, and opioid receptor mechanisms
  • Clinical evidence: psilocybin, MDMA, ketamine, ayahuasca
  • Legal and regulatory landscape (DEA scheduling, FDA Breakthrough Therapy)
  • Ethics and risk management in psychedelic research

Weeks 9–18

Clinical Assessment & Patient Safety

  • Screening protocols and contraindication assessment
  • Psychological preparation and informed consent
  • Medical safety monitoring during sessions
  • Managing difficult experiences and adverse reactions
  • Trauma-informed care principles

Weeks 19–32

Therapeutic Frameworks & Session Facilitation

  • Evidence-based therapeutic models (ACT, CBT, psychodynamic integration)
  • Set and setting: environmental optimization
  • Non-directive facilitation techniques
  • Breathwork, somatic approaches, and embodiment practices
  • Supervision and peer consultation practices

Weeks 33–48

Integration & Advanced Practice

  • Post-session integration therapy techniques
  • Long-term outcome monitoring and follow-up protocols
  • Special populations: veterans, oncology, addiction
  • Practicum: supervised clinical hours (40 hours minimum)
  • Capstone case presentation and competency evaluation
